Rodrigues Island is a very special place. This beautiful and remote Indian Ocean island lies around 560 km from Mauritius. Surrounded by a crystal clear lagoon and reef with white sand beaches, rolling hills and ravines, it’s stunningly beautiful. The people are some of the friendliest I’ve met on my travels.
You’ll indulge in the freshest seafood fished from the reef with fruit and vegetables all grown by smallholders on the island.
Scuba diving and snorkelling lets you explore the colourful underwater life in the shallow reef. For the energetic there’s kite surfing, surfing and hiking.
There’s plenty of wildlife to be found with a giant tortoise reserve. A visit to Coco Island is a must. This stunning nature reserve is a beautiful have for birds.
Through the food in Rodrigues I met its people, learned its history and celebrated its traditions. Join me as I eat my way around Rodrigues island.
