DESTINATION FOOD GUIDES

One of the best ways to get to know a place is through its food. Read my foodie guides for what to eat in a country or city. You’ll find every kind of food and drink from street food to gourmet restaurants and everything in between.

Eating Iceland

Eating Iceland

I'd heard some pretty gruesome tales of what to expect to eat in Iceland and my taste buds arrived in Reykjavik with more than a little trepidation about the food I'd find on my plate. I'm happy to say I didn't need the stash of chocolate Hobnobs I'd secreted in my case because Iceland served up some fabulous food.
Istanbul’s Sweetest Side

Istanbul’s Sweetest Side

Turkish sweets and confectionery from Turkish Delight to Baklava - Turkey didn’t disappoint when it came to sweet treats and confectionery, some of it too sweet even for me, and that's a first… The Spice Bazaar in Istanbul had stalls piled high with endless varieties of Turkish sweets and sugary scrumptiousness.
The Perfect Turkish Breakfast

The Perfect Turkish Breakfast

There’s something about eating outdoors under blue sky on a balmy day that makes the food seem twice as tasty but it was the surprise location of this breakfast that made it so special.
Bologna Food – La Grassa La Gusto

Bologna Food – La Grassa La Gusto

Of the three epithets bestowed upon Bologna; La Dotta – The Learned, La Rossa – The Red and La Grassa – The Fat, it was the latter, fatter moniker that caused me concern. Let me share the foodie delights that Bologna brought to the table.

Travelsphere Cares – Transforming lives through travel

The Good Food Show and Travelsphere Holidays beckoned again this year but this time with a winter twist. It’s good to dream of travel and indulge in some foodie treats to get through the dark winter months. A day out at the Good Food Show is the perfect antidote. But as well as indulging during the festive season it’s also a time to think about others and giving something back.

Tom-Kerridge-chef

I enjoyed the Big Kitchen antics, checked out the food stalls and met chef Tom Kerridge. More importantly, I learned how Travelsphere Cares transforms lives through travel and helps take care of people in the communities they visit.
