PEOPLE I’VE MET ALONG THE WAY…
The cool, calm, quiet of the Consoli kitchen is in complete contrast to the clamour of Catania’s colourful market which we’d just explored as part of our Sicilian Gastronomic Adventure. The next part of the tour was to immerse ourselves into the flavours, cooking customs and rich history of Sicilian cuisine.
While in Agadir, and inspired by International Women’s Day, I visited the Tighanimine Women’s Fairtrade Argan Oil Cooperative to find out how the cooperative got started and how it’s improving the lives of the women and their families.
The winter solstice on 21st December is the date that Brighton lights up the shortest, darkest day of the year with its unique ‘Burning of the Clocks’ festival. I’ve always had a hankering to see this lantern and light spectacular and as it was a clear, crisp night last night I dropped by Marine Parade on Brighton’s seafront and joined in the festivities.
