One of the first things I had to do when I started working in the travel industry was to learn my airport codes. You know, those three-letter IATA identifiers, LHR for London Heathrow, SFO for San Francisco – you get the idea. There’s hundreds of them ranging from Aberdeen to Zurich.

There are some really cool codes around. HIP belongs to Headingly Airport in Australia and BOO is Norway’s Bodo Airport code. There are also some dodgy ones. An internal flight option from Fresno Yosemite Airport to Butler Airport in Missouri would see FAT – BUM on your boarding pass. DIK – HED would mean a journey from Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Airport to Herendeen Bay in Alaska. Anyhow, I digress.

So where’s this going you might be thinking. Well, I’ve actually discovered some really cool airport code designed products from Airportag. I love the quirky travel themed gifts and homeware and thought you might too – either for yourself or as a gift for the travel lover in your life.

Airportag customised gifts

Airportag is an online shop started by ‘Captain Greg’, a designer with a love of flying, and he’s got some really cool ideas. There’s a whole heap of travel-themed products; throw pillows, coffee mugs, t-shirts, tote bags and luggage tags all emblazoned with stylish airport code designs or cool travel quotes in fab fonts and colour ways. There are even designs for imaginary airports; Kings Landing or Gotham City airport. Now you need look no further for fab gifts for travel lovers.

There’s a range of customised products with your own choice of airport codes. Did you travel to New York from London on your honeymoon? Why not opt for a LHR to JFK cushion to remember your first flight as Mr and Mrs, or Mrs and Mrs or Mr and Mr or whatever. There are some cool travel quotes available too.

After poring over the Airportag website for hours (don’t go there unless you’ve got at least an hour to spare) and changing my mind over and over, I finally chose a pouch bag. I couldn’t decide which airport code to choose so I simply went for a design with all of them.

The pouch bag is printed on both sides and made from a durable poly poplin fabric with a good quality zip. It’s really well made and the print quality is excellent. I love it and now I’ve seen the quality of the products for myself I’ll definitely be buying more! It’s perfect for keeping all my tech gear in when I travel like chargers, cables and mini tripods. You could use it for your passport and travel documents or for all your inflight bits and pieces.

Shipping

Airportag offer worldwide delivery from the USA. If you’re not US based you may want to factor in extra time for your delivery to arrive.

I’ll let you into a little secret. Not many people know this, but the airport code LTN has a special place in my heart. Yep, Luton Airport is where I met Mr Jones. Little did I know at the time that I’d eventually become Mrs Jones! So I guess the Luton Airport code LTN will be on the next Airportag product I buy.

Like it? Pin it!
